You can’t seriously ask this question to someone who loves video games of all sorts. It is hard to pick just one system that I use frequently. I suppose back in the day I preferred SNES and my Game Gear over others and now I prefer the Xbox 360 and my DS over others, but seriously I like all sorts of systems and it just can’t be narrowed down to one that I prefer over all systems. I guess maybe if this could count then I prefer computers since I can do emulators and stuff LOL!!
IMHO I believe the Onimusha series has great gameplay! It was the first hack and slash game that I felt moved really fluidly and over all it was just fun for me to play. Each weapon seems to move in its own way and the character never seemed to get stuck for me. This is one of the reasons why the Onimusha series is in my top 5 favorite series.
When I was a child my Grandmother played Secret of Mana and named the little sprite character Pookie after me. Then at the end of the game when he/she/whatever “vanishes” this was when I realize that people die, things die. This also made me realize that in video games you go through the whole game killing things! So this game is how I learned about death and I will say that I bawwwwled at the end of this game. Imagine a 4-5 year old genuinely crying over the loss of a beloved character and this is how she learns about death. This is the only game scene that I have cried over and it is the only one that I have been affected by. TA-DAHH!
P.S. There was a tree in our front yard that had a silhouette at night that looked exactly like the tree at the end of the game, when I realized this I started crying “POOOKIE NOOOO WHYYY”
I am not going to lie, this was a close tie between the Silent Hill games and Castlevania. In the end I chose the Castlevania:SOTN soundtrack and Castlevania music in general over Akira Yamaoka’s genius pieces for SH because I dunno I can go back and listen to the SOTN soundtrack and just have a fun time remembering playing the game and enjoying the music. Sometimes I would just stand around in the library to just listen to the theme for it. I love that song so much. While I do love the SH soundtracks I just can’t listen to all the songs everyday like I could with Castlevania music. The SH music is more like ambiance for me, now granted I could listen to “You’re Not Here” like a bazillion times in a row but it still isn’t nothing compared to what I feel for Castlevania.
Hix and Tengaar from the Suikoden series are the first couple that comes to mind when I am asked this question. Tengaar may show tough love for Hix but she is still so caring and loving towards him. She just wants him to succeed and be the best that he could be. Their story is so cute and they are so cute IMO. Also their joining attack is really funny as well.
Day 5 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were).
It is so hard to actually pick a character that I am most like since video games are so fantastical and there are very few characters (at least in the games that I play) that aren’t in fantasy situations or have magical powers etc. etc.
I can however talk about characters that I feel I at least look like. There are a couple of Suikoden characters of course who I feel I look like but I feel the video game character that I look most like is Heather Mason from the Silent Hill series. Especially her newer look for SH: Shattered Memories. We both have dark circles under our eyes, light freckles and hazel eyes. We also have similar face shapes I feel. I have cosplayed Heather from Silent Hill 3 but I really feel I need to cosplay her updated Shattered Memories look!
Really incredibly girly shovel ware games. Such as Princess Debut, Makeup Paradise and Style Savvy. I will say I don’t actually spend money on these games for I am a pirate but I do try them out and end up getting pretty addicted to them. IRL I am not a girly girl, I hardly wear make up (because I really can’t afford to and I look ok without it on) and just recently started wearing dresses during the summer so it is nice to play these games and try and figure out what other girls think of these games and stuff. I don’t know it is kinda hard to explain haha!
